I’m sitting in the Kansas City airport waiting for a flight to Denver and I’ve seen two interesting Southwest liveries tonight. One I didn’t get a pic of but was orange and red radiating from a red star near the cockpit.

The second was one of their state liveries - sorry for the meh pic I had to run it down and it had already hit the jet bridge so no good angle to kill the glare could be had.

At any rate I hope oppo is having a good night - I had to pay $5 for a bottle of water while waiting to fly to spend 24 hours in Denver before flying back home to STL.

I normally don’t mind traveling  when I go it interesting places and do interesting things but this trip has been a grind.

Looks like SWA has at least two of those. I photographed this one (N943WN) in Austin last April. Great livery.

I think they generally leave the tail alone on these...

That one’s gorgeous! The o ne I saw is a little busy  but it’s always refreshing to see a non-standard setup.

There it is - the bottom right is the other one I saw. It's quite strange for me to see two non-standard liveries especially in a small airport like KC.

We don’t get much in the way of interesting liveries at AUS, but I did catch these two at DFW last year: An AA 737 in AstroJet livery, and the absolutely stunning Icelandair Hekla Aurora 757.

Man both the brushed aluminum of the AA and that Iceland air are beautiful planes! Good finds.

A cursory google search says you're right!

I miss the bare aluminum of the old AA livery. The new one sucks, and doesn’t photograph nearly as well. This was from back in 2014 at KAUS. That silver really pops.

That sure does look good! I’m a sucker for exposed aluminum planes.

Looks like the one jminer spotted is the Missouri seal

For me California, Colorado, and Arizona are the best looking planes in SW’s States liveries

I’ve been able to snap pictures of at least two of their state flag planes at BWI.

I’ve always been a big fan of the Maryland livery. Sadly, not my photo.
